Notes
now that i've read a few books in this series, it's more interesting
i can see how the characters are developed over many books
there are some interesting decisions in doing a series
like ending a relationship that was important in the previous book
this book has the feel of being in the middle of a series
i don't like that quite as much, it feels like it doesn't need a huge premise
because it fits in with the larger storyline of the entire series
as usual though, the casino scams are pretty good
the actual sucker bet in sports betting is a little over the top maybe
i liked some of the unexplained power behind Mr. Beauregard
some of his readers didn't like it as much, they want everything explained
i wasn't bothered by the rock star hoax like other readers
as usual, the pace is very fast, which i really like
overall, i think the biggest drawback was the lack of a high concept premise
otherwise it was a good book in the series |
