eh, not that great but at least it's relatively short
the story just doesn't have the high impact of a great plot idea
it's mostly just a bunch of events happening
it does fit in with his later book that i read first, The Protege
that would have made that book more interesting if i read this first
but overall, the pacing is not that fast, and the events aren't hugely interesting
there aren't awesome surprises or twists really
the main character spends a lot of time figuring out what's going on
but part of the problem may be that the reader knows more than Christian sometimes
i think that takes away from the experience for the reader, which is the most important
he also does these little italic introduction paragraphs before each chapter
i don't find those really useful, they started off interesting but became kinda cheesy |
