Notes
wow, great book
i really like his style, it flows smoothly like John Grisham
even the font size and line spacing is nice
the total page length of around 350 pages is very manageable
his whole genre of writing thrillers based on gambling and casinos is great
it's a unique niche that he has strong expertise in
the concept for this story is really interesting from the start
then the explanations are logical and don't feel forced
it all comes together in the end
the ending isn't super huge or a gigantic surprise or twist
but it's satisfying overall, and the bulk of the novel is really smooth
there is even some nice undertones on morality and doing good
with a nice twist even on a better perspective on things
there are a few things i don't like as much
the dual stories of Tony and Gerry seem a little tricky in the middle
it jumps back and forth and doesn't completely tie together in an integral way
there also seem to possibly be some references to past books maybe?
since the main character was from past books
i definitely want to read more of this author's stuff though
i like his style and pacing and subject matter |
