Notes
starts with a list of acronyms
then a sample of real-world news excerpts
those are useful to provide context, but i feel like they slow down the beginning
the prologue is decent, it starts off with a big catastrophic event
a little too much talk though, probably better to fill in backstory gradually
chapter one is interesting, the CID technology is cool
seems like it could have been developed in more detail
overall, the middle sustains good action throughout
all the military stuff is interesting for a layman to read
but the story itself isn't that powerful
the ending isn't huge either, the big surprise isn't really unexpected or huge
overall, i'd say it's decent for readers who like military thrillers
but it's not a story that has lasting impact or a resonant theme |
