Notes

interesting first chapter, seems unrelated for a while
but it all ties together in the end, which is good
the main character is a CIA agent, he's fairly interesting
there's some details about his language that i'm not crazy about
like when he uses exclamation points, like "ah, me!"
the setup of the killers at the safehouse in the mountains is good
i don't like the change in font when the viewpoint switches to Goncharov
it only happens in the beginning of the book, and seems unnecessary to me
the end of the beginning and early middle drags a bit to me
some scenes probably could have been cut to speed up the pace
the main character is mostly a thief, but he's suprisingly good with a gun
Kelly Erlanger dragged the suitcase of files out of the burning house
but really, knowing everything we know about her now, she should have left it
Jake Grafton is obviously a main character from past stories
he works fine in this story even though i haven't read all the past books
the ending doesn't have a huge twist really, it's not a major surprise
it's meant to be a surprise, but the wrap-up explanation is a bit slow
i prefer surprises that jump out of nowhere, rather than explanations
overall, it's a good book, but because the ending isn't huge, it's not a great book to me
