first stop proceeding with a poor decision
use your head and consult your heart
W.E. Deming: "85% of all failure is in the system"
* Am I meeting the real need, informing myself of options, and thinking if through?
"what do I want to do?" vs. "what would I like to have done?"
collect needed information, but don't worry about trying to get all info that would be "nice to have"
it's not that we have no options, it's that we aren't aware of all our options
think through possible future scenarios by asking "Then what?"
imagine acting on a decision - then what would happen? then what?
ask questions to distinguish reality from illusions we want to believe
decisions reveal underlying beliefs
* Does my decision show I am honest with myself, trust my intuition, and deserve better?
intuition is not just how you feel about the decision, it's what you sense about how you came to it
what would I do if I were not afraid?
you might think you deserve better, but you must actually believe it |
