There's a specific line in this song that goes "I know it's wrong, but I gotta be strong". Some people might wonder why I chose to use the word "but" instead of "so". The idea was to say that what's wrong here is my hesitation, what's wrong is my not allowing us to be together, BUT I still feel like I gotta be strong to avoid hurting her in the end...
The Right Guy
by Blue Audio

All this time
I thought I had everything
I thought I had it all
Straight in my mind

I knew from the start
That we were better apart
We were never meant to be together
She was my best friend, friends forever
And I just gotta be strong
To keep the right from going wrong

And I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy

I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy

She was free
To do what she wanted
And I was free
To do the same, yeah

We never played the game
We were friends from the start
And though I loved her from my heart
I could never deal with all the complications
Love relations, my hesitation
I know it's wrong
But I gotta be strong

And I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy

I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy

Could I be the right guy
But she's my friend for life
I'd like to be the right guy
I can't hide what I feel inside
I'm scared of the possibilities
I'm no good at responsibility
So I'll just close my eyes...

I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy

I don't want to let her get to me
I don't want to let her break the deal
We promised we'd always be friends for life
I'm not the right guy
