Once upon a time
We were young and
Everything was simple
Pure and joyful in our lives
And we knew that
We could make a day last forever
'Cause we never let tomorrow
Be a burden on our minds
Freedom sides with the child
But somehow
Time has now taken toll
Like all the blackness of the night
And by your side I find
I've fallen behind
In this race we call our lives
We gotta find our place
In this little space of time
And so I leave to you
A quiet shade of blue
A part of me to carry with you
|
| As you try to ascribe
Your relation to the world
Balance life upon your nose
And now you know how it feels
To have the crowds of doubt
Push you down to the ground
Suffocating all your pride and joy
And though you line your life
With silk and satin
Now you see your time is coming
So you sit and think
And dream of when your life
Was pure and simple
The days long past
Though they used to last forever
And so I leave to you
A quiet shade of blue
A part of me to carry with you |
